The EITRE system has been purchased by Department of Electronic & Electrical Engineering at University College London. The system will be installed at the new nanoimprint lithography facility that is being set-up by the Photonic Innovations Laboratory. The EITRE system will be used in research and development work as well as for educational purposes.
The Photonic Innovations Lab’s mission is to advance the fundamental understanding of light and its interaction with matter. Research themes include: clean and renewable energy generation; improving the energy efficiency of the built environment; and biomedical applications.
Dr. Ioannis Papakonstantinou, who is heading the new nanoimprint lithography facility says that – "Targeted applications currently include Bio-Inspired Smart Windows based on thermochromic thin-film with moth-eye structures, development of ultrasound imaging probes and high-speed Wireless visible light communications with OLEDs".
– “We are very pleased that University College London and the Photonic Innovations Lab has chosen Obducat as its supplier of NIL equipment and technology. Obducat’s NIL technology is already today being widely used in the area of Photonic applications which represents a big commercial opportunity in the coming years.” says Patrik Lundström, CEO, Obducat.
The EITRE system to University College London will be delivered during the third quarter this year.
